Power Animals

Everyone has guardian spirits, and they come in many forms.

Power animals are guardian spirits that take the form of animals that protect us, and help to keep us healthy and strong. They differ from totem animals in that power animals are personal to us. Totem animals are generally guardian spirits for families, clans, tribes, or groups of people. It is said that when we are born a guardian spirit recognizes our vulnerability and offers itself to protect us,to keep us healthy, strong, and power-filled.

You can have one, or many power animals.  If they leave you can experience power loss. Similar to the process of soul retrieval, a power animal retrieval restores this lost power that can result in a feeling of increased vitality, improved health, confidence, and sense of security.

Their unique power empowers us, and their special “medicine” or talents and characteristics also become part of our nature in a sense.  For example, people with Bear as a power animal are often healers.  People who have dolphin as a power animal usually love the water and are gifted communicators.

You also have guardian spirits in the form of ancestors,  angels, trees, and sometimes “wee folk”.

You might not always be aware of your power animals and other guardian spirits directly.  You may indirectly experience them as animals you are drawn to or have had a special interest in.  For example,  they may be stuffed animals or particular animals that you surrounded yourself with in childhood that provided comfort, or unique encounters you have had with live animals.

Symptoms of power loss include: fatigue, chronic illness, depression and patterns of bad luck or accidents.
