Energy Healing, Personal Growth, and Shamanism, the early years
1986-1990
Beginning in 1986, I apprenticed in energy healing with Nancy Taylor Rochon in New England, took workshops with Vicki Noble, Carolyn Conger, and nearly everything Temenos Associates (Lynnaea Lumbard and Carole Kammen, and Nancy Taylor Rochon) offered over a four year period of time, eventually assisting them with production and facilitation while living on the East Coast. This included training in Voice Dialogue, Energy Healing (Reiki), Divination, and the Enneagram.
At that time I had a small part time private practice above the natural food store offering energy healing and Voice Dialogue sessions.
Shamanism
mid 1990’s-present
I moved back to Seattle in the early 90’s, and it took a few years to find my next step in the healing arts. I went to see Rochelle Wallace by recommendation of my doctor, after the death of my mom. I initially learned shamanic journeying and many other things from her before beginning my studies with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies with Michael Harner from 1998-2002 (Way of the Shaman, Two-Week Training in Shamanic Healing , and Three-Year Training in Advanced Shamanism and Shamanic Healing). Sandra Ingerman co-taught the Two-Week Training with Michael Harner. That was an incredible experience. I also mentored with Betsy Bergstrom through these years as she healed up my bumps and bruises learning how to navigate the spiritual landscape, and she co-taught Compassionate Depossession with Michael Harner in the Three-Year Training I attended. I have also been blessed to enjoy the wisdom of several indigenous elders, including Thomas Banyacya, Hopi Elder.
I went on to study with Sandra Ingerman, taking her Medicine for the Earth and Healing with Spiritual Light workshops. I was fortunate to participate in her first Two-Year Teacher Training in Shamanic Healing, for which I’m endorsed to teach shamanic journeying, soul retrieval, extraction, death and dying, and healing with spiritual light by her. During that time period I also worked with Tom Cowan, and Claude Poncelet.
Hypnotherapy
2004
Realizing there was more to working with people than just the healing work, I studied with Jack Elias: The Institute for Therapeutic Learning to learn more about creating a therapeutic relationship, and of course hypnotherapy. I completed a 150 hour Hypnotherapy/NLP Certification Training in Transpersonal Therapeutic Process.
Constellations
2004-present
After yet another turning point in my life, I discovered Family Constellations in 2004 taking my first workshop with Brigitte Stzab. It was life changing. I went on to participate in workshops and trainings with the late Dietrich Weth, Ursula Franke, Daan van Kampenhout, Albrecht Mahr, Dietrich Klinghardt, Johannes Schmidt, Francesca Mason Boring, Elmar Dornberger, Mark Wolynn, Stephan Hausner, Anngwyn St. Just, a one-year facilitator training program with Mark Johnson, and Family Constellation, Community, Organizational & Nature Constellation Facilitator Training & Personal Deepening, a 7 month training, with Francesca Mason Boring.
Trauma Healing
2009-2010
Nearly everyone who finds their way to me has experienced some form of trauma. Although the modalities I practice are helpful in healing trauma, I wanted to better understand the anatomy of it.
I was fortunate to participate in a one-year training in Trauma Resolution: Body Oriented Trauma Healing Training (104 hours) with Johannes Schmidt, and many of his “constellational process” workshops during the time he was traveling here to teach, all the way from Germany. Johannes is a therapist and constellational process facilitator with a focus in trauma healing, especially developmental trauma and embryology. As intensive as it was, I consider it introduction to this kind of work.
Teaching and Presentations
2003-present
I’ve been teaching shamanism and shamanic healing steadily since 2003, one to two year apprenticeship/training programs since 2005, and have been a frequent presenter at East West Bookshop. The last few years I’ve had the privilege of presenting at the Fairy and Human Relation’s Congress, and participating in Kim Wilbourn’s teleconference on Tree Spirit Medicine. I’ve facilitated family and systemic constellations workshops since 2007 including a monthly Friday evening circle for 3 years. In 2013 I had the privilege of being a presenter at the US Systemic Constellations Conference where I wove together shamanism and the constellational process in Power Animal Constellations.
